I WAKE UP AT 5 AM • MY MORNING ROUTINE • My day starts early, but it was not always that way. It took me years to teach myself to wake up early. I know that we are all our habits. For me waking up was another habit that I should build.
I started organizing my day back in 2017. I’ve tried and tested all kinds of methods to be productive and maintain work-life balance. Finally, at the end of 2022, everything changed. Here is how I spend my mornings that helps me become happier and more productive.
I WAKE UP EARLY • MY PRODUCTIVE 5 AM MORNING ROUTINE
It was not easy for me to wake up early before. The reason was obvious: I didn’t use to go to bed early. Our body doesn’t survive long without sleep. There were times when I stayed up late to get more work done.
Since I went to sleep at 2 or 3 AM, I had no chance to get up at 5 AM. What I needed was discipline. Gradually I taught myself using reminders on my phone to go to bed at 9 PM. First I could not go to sleep right away, but after some time, I built my second habit of going to bed early.
This is the simple truth: “If you want to wake up early, go to bed early.” Another hack that I use is that I leave my phone across the room and go to bed. When the alarm rings, I have to get out of my bed (it is annoying) and wake up.
MAKING MY BED AND TAKING A SHOWER • I WAKE UP AT 5 AM • MY MORNING ROUTINE
It takes me almost one hour to make my bed and take a shower. By doing these two things first, I make sure that I don’t go back to bed. Some people say that they get their best ideas in the shower. It doesn’t work for me. However, there is nothing better than feeling refreshed and light after the shower.
Another rule I follow is that I should not spend more than ten minutes picking what to wear or what kind of hairstyle I want. This is why I got rid of all the clothes I did not like. Now I have my capsule wardrobe. Since I love all my outfits I don’t have to spend hours trying to figure out what to wear.
When it comes to my hairstyle, I have compiled the pictures of the hairstyles that I love. All I have to do is to open my folder of hairstyles on my phone and select one.
PRAYING • MY PRODUCTIVE DAY • I WAKE UP AT 5 AM • MY MORNING ROUTINE
After drying my hair and getting dressed, I sit to pray. When I’m not feeling well, I can skip anything, but my prayers. This is the sacred moment when I communicate with God asking Him for what I want.
They say that the doors of Heaven are open in the morning and God grants everyone who is up at that time their wishes. All of my dreams have come true! You should give this a try.
BREAKFAST • I WAKE UP AT 5 AM • MY MORNING ROUTINE
This is the saying that I follow when it comes to meals: “Eat your breakfast alone. Share your lunch with your friend. Give your dinner to your enemy.”
It means that I can have a big breakfast in the morning, because I will be working all day. Thus I will not gain weight. Lunch should be smaller than breakfast for there will be very little time to digest that meal. If we eat a lot of food and go to bed right afterwards, it may lead to obesity.
MAKEUP • I WAKE UP AT 5 AM • MY MORNING ROUTINE
This is my favorite part of my morning routine. After brushing my teeth, I sit down before my mirror and magic begins. Though I am fond of makeup products, I still like a natural look. This is why I do my best not to use too much makeup.
VISUALIZATION • I WAKE UP AT 5 AM • MY MORNING ROUTINE
I use a digital vision board for my visualization technique. I sit on my bed, look at my vision board, picture everything first, then I close my eyes. I see a different reality: This is the world in which all of my dreams have come true.
Repeating affirmations is another habit that helps me think positive and attract everything I want into my life. I started using affirmations four years ago. First they did not work for me.
The reason is simple: just because one affirmation works for someone, it can not guarantee that it will work for me as well. We are all unique. This is why it’s crucial to pick the affirmations that actually resonate with our souls.
In February of 2022, I started my Affirmation Log. A year has passed. When I hear or come up with something that I should remember or keep in mind, I jot it down in my Affirmation Log.
At the moment I have 145 affirmations. I repeat each and every single one of them everyday. Each affirmation ends with “Thank You, God!” It means that this is also my gratitude journal.
And finally, I’m ready to start my work. Thank you so much for giving “My Productive 5 AM Morning Routine” a try! It’s been amazing to share these steps with you. If you have any questions, feel free to comment. Also, check out other blog posts and I will see you in my next posts xx
