One fine morning a frog named Chris was having breakfast. He looked at his newspaper. There was an ad that said, “Competition: the winner will get 2000 gold coins!” Chris stopped eating and read the ad once more.

Soon the news spread like wildfire. Each and every frog was eager to win! “2000 Gold Coins!” The prize took everyone’s breath away. It was the King’s birthday. He decided to celebrate his 57th birthday in a special way.

Chris headed to the address shown in the ad. While he was going on foot, a car stopped near him.

“Look at that!” the driver frog said looking over his glasses. “Someone is so determined! Are you sure that you can make it to the place of competition today?” the driver asked.

Chris did not reply.

“Do not bother him. He has a long way to go yet!” another frog in the backseat said. All the four burst into laughter.

“Good Luck!” the driver frog said and they left.

It took Chris twenty more minutes to get to the place. Everyone had eyes on the gold coins.

“You will see I’m going to win!” some of them claimed.

The four frogs got out of their car and came forward to hear the King’s speech. Chris joined them last, but he came in time. As soon as he joined, the King began his speech.

HOW TO OVERCOME CHALLENGES • INSPIRING SHORT STORIES ON POSITIVE ATTITUDE

Once the speech was over, the frogs began the competition. They approached a high mountain. The King declared that anyone who could reach the top of the mountain and come back would win the prize.

All the frogs started climbing the mountain with enthusiasm. Each of them was determined to win the prize. A few moments later most of the frogs got exhausted and quitted.

However, only one frog kept going up and up. Everyone was warning him that he would die. But, he wouldn’t listen.

Finally, that frog ascended to the very top of the mountain and went back down.

The reporters and surprised contestants surrounded him and asked, “How did you do that?” the frog remained silent.

They repeated the question. The answer came not. Then, they discovered that the frog was deaf and mute. He couldn’t hear when everyone told him to give up.

YOU ARE ENOUGH. • INSPIRING SHORT STORIES ON POSITIVE ATTITUDE

People always talk. When we hear something we don’t like from our loved ones, we become disappointed. When we acknowledge that the only person whose approval we need is our self, we become free.

If there is someone who is mean to you or say mean things about you, stop talking to them: some people do not change. Always be picky and choose the people who make you feel worthy and inspire you.

HOW NOT TO CARE ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE’S OPINIONS ABOUT YOU

People always talk. When we hear something we don’t like from our loved ones, we become disappointed.

The first step to stop caring about what others think of you is to stop expecting.

Don’t expect anything from anyone. Stay positive, polite. When we are busy working on ourselves, what others think of it doesn’t matter.

When I hear someone’s opinion about me, first I ask myself, “how is that person’s advice working for oneself?”

I only listen to the people whom I want to be like, who are successful and positive thinkers. Truly great people do not demean others, because they see the same greatness in everyone.

Save this quote and repeat more often:

“A lion doesn’t concern himself with the opinion of a sheep.”
