This Simple Habit Tracker is a Lifesaver • This Habit Tracker Will Help You Build New Habits Fast and Simply
Building a habit takes a lot of time, but the habit tracker I am about to talk about won’t. Like I wrote in my other posts, I started tracking my habits back in November last year.
It’s been 3 weeks since I started using it. The results are amazing! Now I know exactly what I should do and finish in a day to be more productive.
HOW I USE MY HABIT TRACKER
At the beginning I had 24 (I know, incredible) things to do every single day. For the first week I got all 24 things done everyday.
However, the next week I got stuck. Using the Yerkes-Dodsonlaw, I decided to focus on the 15 things instead of 24. Other 9 things on my list would not serve me in the long run, but was taking me too much time.
Now I go through all of the 15 things and check them one by one. This habit tracker also helped me understand how much I am capable of accomplishing in one day.
TRACKING YOUR HABITS CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE
Productivity is not about getting a lot of things done in a short period of time, but it’s about going slow but steady. If we finish a lot of work in a day and we are too tired to keep going the next day, we aren’t productive.
Our whole day consists of our habits: We watch TV as we have used to it. We forget our keys somewhere as we have got accustomed to it. When we repeat something over and over again, it becomes our habit.
The good news is that we can use this to change our lives. It’s simple. Take a piece of paper or a notebook. And a pen. Write down all the habits your Best Self should have.
Once you start following all the steps and building new habits, you will become your Best Self. Don’t worry about anything. Just take the first step.
If there is a habit that you do not like, build a new better habit that you love that helps you become your Best Self.
WHAT IS A HABIT TRACKER?
A habit tracker helps you build the habits you want to have and healthy lifestyle. You can use either digital or analog habit trackers. They both work the same way.
You can create daily, weekly, monthly or yearly habit tracker based on what you are trying to accomplish. You mark off the habits that you have committed to at the end of the day, week or month. Your habit tracker will show you how consistent you have been building your habits.
HOW CAN I TRACK MY DAILY ROUTINE?
Tracking your daily routine helps you understand how you are evolving. We are our habits. Your habits can reveal a lot about who you are. This is how you do it.
All you need is a piece of paper or notebook and a pen. First write down every single daily, weekly or monthly habit that you want to build and commit to.
Put the dates above. Every time when you finish doing one habit, you’ll tick off the habit for each given day. You can also use habit tracking printables or habit tracking apps.
DOES HABIT TRACKING WORK?
Habit tracking will work only if you do! Building a habit takes time, efforts and dedication. If you are actually committed to something, you can easily build that habit.
Here is how I made habit tracking work for myself: I allowed myself to start small, take small steps and call it a success. If I need to read a five-hundred-page book, I start reading by (can you guess?) one paragraph per day.
You will laugh, but this is how I finished “THE HOBBIT” in one week. I started reading one paragraph per day though. This is another story for another day.
